Traditional East Asian Medicine and Acupuncture are a wonderful way to assist in working towards optimal health, safely and naturally. This holistic system incorporates Acupuncture, massage, herbs, diet and lifestyle advice to help assist in health and well being and it is suited to all ages.
Throughout the journey of conception, pregnancy and birth Traditional East Asian medicine may assist you in many ways. Acupuncture is an important part of Traditional East Asian medicine and may help patients to manage a range of symptoms.
Treatment is tailored to each individual person according to what is needed. We take a detailed history, look at your tongue and take your pulse. We make a detailed plan to assist you so that you know what to expect. Then we pop up onto the treatment table for 15-30minutes of bliss. Treatment may include acupuncture, massage, moxibustion, cupping, diet and lifestyle consult and sometimes supplemental herbs, foods or self treatment such as footbaths and acupressure. Needle free treatments are available on request. Our practitioner is qualified and registered with AHPRA and AACMA. Rebates are available.

Introducting our Community Acupuncture Program!
We are very excited to be able to offer a lower cost option of $35 per session to clients for their ongoing treatment appointments at MAMA. Millicent will be joined by Heather on Tuesday’s to offer group sessions in our Yoga room.
In a Community Acupuncture session you will be in a comfortable group setting, with a relaxing low lit environment. There will be other people in the room also receiving treatment and having discussions with the practitioners. We recommend bringing some headphones and an eye mask so that you can limit the distractions and focus in, or even have a short nap! It is recommended to wear loose, comfortable clothing to be able to access up to the knees and elbows for treatment, if needed.
Please note this is only available for ongoing appointments, you will need to book an initial appointment* to discuss your health requirements as this is a longer and more in depth appointment to understand your current situation. From then on your ongoing treatments can be booked in our Community Acupuncture sessions.
*For a limited time, we will be offering Initial Consults at a special rate for those who would like to access our Community Acupuncture Program. These will be $75 (instead of $135) and available on Tuesdays.
MAMA now also offers paediatric acupuncture appointments!
Pediatric acupuncture is a special interest of Dr. Millicent Matthew and she has additional qualifications in pediatric tuina (massage) shonishin and other needle free treatments.
Please note, this is a treatment not a relaxation massage. Parents are sent home with instructions for ongoing treatment at home.
This is not just for babies! Anyone that isn’t an adult can have pediatric treatments. The tuina is fantastic for most newborn and childhood illnesses and ailments.
Cost: Initial Consultation (60 minutes) – $100; Follow-Up Consultations (30 minutes) – $50
