MAMA’s Lactation team is here for you during pregnancy, the early postpartum period, and beyond. Find out more about them below.
Alicia has been working with families and children for over 15 years. First as a nanny and then as a midwife, Alicia soon found her niche in postpartum care. After seven years on the ward (and lots of encouragement from her patients!) Alicia went ahead and gained her IBCLC qualification. Alicia loves supporting her clients to reach their feeding goals and gain their confidence as parents. Alicia is very excited to be joining the MAMA team and is really looking forward to working with the MAMA community.
** Sarah is on maternity leave from October 2021 **
Sarah has been a qualified midwife since 2012 and practiced in the Netherlands for over 3 years before she and her husband made the move to Australia. Due to the differences between the Dutch and Australian midwifery systems, she hasn’t been able to work as a midwife here in Australia. However, Sarah has been so fortunate to find MAMA and get involved in many different areas. In 2017 Sarah’s first son Hugo was born and in 2018 her second son Jonas. She breastfed them both with so much joy and a couple of hiccups. During her second maternity leave she studied to become a lactation consultant and her mind was blown by all the additional knowledge she got. Now she is very happy to fulfill the position of a Lactation Consultant at MAMA.
