Hi! I’m Ellie, and I’m one of the MAMA midwives.
From an early age, listening to my own family’s experiences of maternity care, I realised my passion for midwifery and the importance of supporting women and their families to make informed and empowered decisions. This belief has led me to becoming a registered midwife with a focus on continuity of care. I’ve worked in a variety of settings including regional and metropolitan hospitals in Victoria in both the private and public sectors. For the last five and a half years I’ve worked full time in midwifery group practice providing care throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum, as well as publicly funded homebirth.
I am so excited to work in private practice so I can fully support women to be autonomous decision makers in their care. I believe that labour and birth is a normal, physiological event in a woman’s life. I love supporting women to feel empowered and strong; and to walk alongside families on whatever journey their pregnancy and postpartum takes them.
When I’m not midwifing, I’m spending time with my partner and our menagerie of animals; watching Netflix; having a coffee with friends, or tending to my jungle of indoor plants. I am so excited to be part of MAMA, providing care within a team that shares my ethos and passion for providing holistic care that all families should get to experience and benefit from.
