Throughout the journey of conception, pregnancy and birth Traditional East Asian medicine may assist you in many ways. Acupuncture is an important part of Traditional East Asian medicine and may help patients to manage a range of symptoms.
Treatment is tailored to each individual person according to what is needed. We take a detailed history, look at your tongue and take your pulse. We make a detailed plan to assist you so that you know what to expect. Then we pop up onto the treatment table for 15-30minutes of bliss. Treatment may include acupuncture, massage, moxibustion, cupping, diet and lifestyle consult and sometimes supplemental herbs, foods or self treatment such as footbaths and acupressure. Needle free treatments are available on request. Our practitioner is qualified and registered with AHPRA and AACMA. Private health rebates are available.

Community Acupuncture
Resident Chinese Medicine Practitioner Dr. Millicent Matthew is now providing Community Acupuncture Sessions. Our Community Acupuncture clinic is run on the ground floor of MAMA Kensington. We provide comfortable reclining chairs and a supportive community healing experience.
Initial consults are usually conducted one-on-one in a private space. This way we can discuss any sensitive information and our treatment plan, before moving to the Community space. When you recieve acupuncture there may be one or two people receiving treatment at the same time as you.
Why have we decided to to this?
Because it means that we can provide you with regular Acupuncture treatments at the fraction of the usual price. Because it makes our clinic inclusive, and that’s what healthcare is all about.
We want to provide you with affordable and consistent healthcare. We want to empower you to take action and seek help before you feel unwell. We want you to benefit from the support of the community that you’re a part of. We want you and your family to feel welcome.
Community Acupunture is an easy and affordable way to maintain your health or check in with your health more regularly.

Paediatric Acupuncture
Pediatric acupuncture is a special interest of Dr Millicent Matthew and she has additional qualifications in pediatric tuina (massage) shonishin and other needle free treatments.
Please note, this is a treatment not a relaxation massage. Parents are sent home with instructions for ongoing treatment at home.
This is not just for babies! Anyone that isn’t an adult can have pediatric treatments. The tuina is fantastic for most newborn and childhood illnesses and ailments.
Dr Millicent Matthew also provides private birth education at MAMA Kensington, via telehealth or at your home! More information is available here.
