Hi, I’m Sarina Keam, Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist. I am a passionate and experienced Chinese Medicine practitioner with over 10 years of clinical practice. I have vast experience treating women’s health, pregnancy, birth and beyond. It brings me great joy and satisfaction to be able to help and support women through these journeys.
There are many conditions that may arise in pregnancy such as nausea, pelvic and back pain, breech presentation that Chinese Medicine can help treat. Birth preparation treatments weekly from 36 weeks can be extremely helpful to prepare your body for birth. Being a Mum to 3 children has given me much insight and empathy into the journey of motherhood.
I graduated with degrees in Chinese Medicine and Human Biology from RMIT University in 2006. I combine Acupuncture alongside diet and lifestyle advice to help you feel better throughout your pregnancy and beyond.
I am registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and AACMA (Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association). I am a registered provider with all major health funds.

Since discovering the absolute joys of working with pregnant women, Nicola jumped at the opportunity to work at MAMA. Nicola feels it is such a privilege to be part of the miracle of new life and to help support Mum’s through all the changes. Nicola truly appreciates the times when she can help turn things around for you; like morning sickness, bleeding in pregnancy, hip or back pain and breech presentation babies, just to name a just a few!
Nicola thoroughly enjoys general practice and has had specialised training in antenatal and postnatal conditions, gynecology and fertility, pediatric conditions, complex chronic and autoimmune diseases, cancer support, digestive and musculoskeletal conditions. Nicola understands that no two people are the same and will work diligently to tailor treatments to your specific needs, with a focus on prevention and dietary understanding. Nicola’s goal is to create a partnership in your healthcare, where you truly feel that you play an important role on your path to good health.
Prior to her sea change to Melbourne, Nicola lived and practiced in Sydney where she graduated from the 5-year full time Bachelor course at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Nicola has a deep appreciation for the classical texts of Chinese medicine and was lucky enough to undertake official internships with two renowned Australian physicians; Daniel Deng and David White. This provided Nicola with valuable opportunities to learn techniques to successfully treat a vast array of conditions. As part of her studies Nicola also spent time working as an intern in the Guangzhou City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China.
Nicola is available at MAMA Kensington on Tuesdays 10am-6pm, and Fridays.
