Sofia is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the College of Clinical Psychologists. Sofia has considerable experience working in community, mental health, private practice, university and hospital settings.
Her main areas of practice include treatment of parents, infants and their families during the perinatal period suffering from depression and anxiety, adjustment difficulties, preparation for parenthood, fear of labour, trauma, infant settling and feeding problems and attachment issues.
Sofia provides evidence–based psychotherapy including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and psychodynamic and attachment theory. Her therapeutic style focuses on her clients strengths and encourages collaboration in treatment. Therapy is adapted to suit the individual needs.
