Pre-Birth Acupressure Workshop
Practical Eastern Medicine Advice for you and your partner in preparation for the birth of your baby
Chinese medicine has been thriving for thousands of years and now is commonly used all over the world
for a variety of different conditions as well as maintaining health and preventing illness.
In Birth, Chinese medicine has an important role. The energy and the blood flow interact with internal
organs within the woman’s body to nourish and protect her baby. Certain ailments can interfere with
this flow and either stagnate or deplete internal Qi (vital energy). This can influence how your body
opens up to birth. Acupressure is a gentle tool that when guided by a registered practitioner can be
used to assist the body into state of openness and free flow.
Anna Pino is a registered Chinese medicine practitioner and Acupuncturist as well as a Doula. Her
specialty is in pregnancy and birth support. She helps her pregnancy patients understand their body,
connect with their baby and have practical tools that give them confidence moving into the birthing
Anna is running an acupressure workshop designed for women between 30-38 weeks in pregnancy and
their partners which will encompass:
1. What are Meridians? And how they influence your Birthing experience?
2. Acupressure points for labour preparation suitable for you.
3. Positioning and implementing acupressure in different stages of pre-birth.
4. What to know in tricky birthing situations: breech, retention of placenta, insufficient milk
supplies, shock during birth, shaking during anesthesia.
