Save a Kid was founded to bridge the knowledge gap many parents have when it comes to common illness and injuries in their children. All sessions are delivered by paediatric emergency nurses with extensive experience in each topic we cover. We believe this gives us a unique insight into what parents worry about, and what they need to know. Just as important, we also talk about what you don’t need to worry about! In our 2.5 hour session we cover:
- CPR for all ages
- hands on practice with baby and older child/adult manikin
- Choking first aid
- including hands on practice with manikin
- SIDS and safe sleeping
- Fever and febrile convulsions
- Common illness
- prevalence and prevention
- signs of serious, including ‘red flags’ such as behaviour, fluid loss, breathing problems, skin changes and rash’s
- Common injury
- prevalence and prevention
- car restraints
- drowning
- poisins
- burns
- head injury
Everyone gets a take home pack with a CPR and choking chart, serious illness information and home safety checklist. Direction is also given to digital resources so you can refresh things you learn on the day, and enable you to source reliable information in the future.
