MAMA Caulfield now has a Yoga class! It is on every Wednesday evening. Bookings can be made through the yoga instructor, Louise.
Here is a bit more about Louise’s philosophy..
Louise started going to a yoga class with her mother over 20 years ago and enjoyed a weekly unravelling with her teacher. With this love she decided that she needed to find out more and undertook teacher training at the Australian College of Classical Yoga and discovered the gift of meditation and classical yoga training.
Louise taught many different types of bodies in her classes in her first few years teaching. However, with her sisters and friends falling pregnant (it was busy year in 2005), Louise developed an interest in teaching Prenatal Yoga and has been teaching these special classes ever since.
Over this time Louise has attended trainings in Calmbirth and Sarah Buckley and when faced with more interesting questions about pregnancy has routinely asked her midwife aunt to become as well informed in the physiological changes during pregnancy.
Louise’s philosophy is that she is helping women to traverse the journey of pregnancy as comfortably as possible, and while the physical practice is important to prepare for the rigours as labour, the relaxation tools and techniques she teaches prepares women for birth and beyond.
Louise style of teaching has developed into a therapeutic and nurturing approach to yoga through her studies with Donna Farhi, Susi Aldous Hately, and most recently Judith Hanson Lasater where she qualified as a Relax and Renew teacher for the healing power of Restorative Yoga.
