The first baby to be born under our care when we opened our doors as MAMA is now starting school!
Asher was the first baby born under our care after we opened our doors as MAMA. Mum Margo has shared these precious photos & words with us. Can you believe he starts school this year?!
“Five and a bit years ago, the MAMA team helped me with the birth of my second baby Asher. Since then we have had many adventures. Just one day after Asher was born the company Rohan worked for closed down and we were given the opportunity to move to San Fransisco. Three months later my 3 year old, 3 month old, husband and I moved overseas. There were many emotions (and tears) the day we left Melbourne. Our time is America was interesting, we travelled to New York, LA, Disney Land. We had a White Christmas. We made a few good friends. Being overseas was not an easy time for me. I longed for home, I missed my family and friends and having two little kids at home in a new country made me feel very isolated. However looking back I feel extremely blessed and grateful for the opportunity and amongst the hard times there were many good times also.
We lived in America for almost 2 years arriving home just short of Asher’s second birthday. We came home without a job and moved in with my mother in Canberra. At the time I had this feeling that it would all work out however my husband was pretty stressed (understandably). As it turned out the universe provided for us once more and within 3 months my husband had a new job back in Melbourne. Coming home to Melbourne felt amazing and surreal. It was lovely being reunited with loved one’s. Anara is now 8 and goes into year 3 next year, she has been playing piano for two years now and she also loves to dance and sing. She is a sensitive, caring girl and a wonderful sister. Asher is 5 and just finished 4 year old kinder. Next year he will start prep. Asher is very independent, he can write his name and most letters in the alphabet, he can’t wait to learn to read. He is definitely ready for school. Rohan is working in the city and thankfully at the moment his work seems stable and he seems happy there. He likes to go skate boarding during his lunch hour with friends so that his cool tricks can be witnessed! haha.
I have been studying Nutritional Medicine for the past year and a half and I am loving it. To begin with going back to school was a bit daunting as it had been at least 10 years since I last studied. Three terms in and I am slowly getting the hang of it. I will miss Asher next year and it feels a little bitter sweet him starting school, but ultimately a good thing for us both.
I am forever grateful to MAMA and particularly Jan for bringing Asher into the world and into our lives safely. “
