“The birth of my second daughter, Harlow was such a positive, healing experience. I found my second pregnancy was really physically and emotionally challenging and with an induction birth looming, not having the support of my GP for a home birth and with my mental state declining by the day, Marita and Rachel were able to keep me positive and with their encouragement I was able to have the birth I was wanting without complication. They were always so informative, reassuring and supportive no matter what my decisions were.
When I first suggested that I was considering having my baby at home, my GP reacted with stories of horror, still birth babies, mothers dying and endless complications. His response was so extreme I shelved all hopes of a home birth. It wasn’t until I had another negative experience with the hospital at 35 weeks that I revisited the idea seriously and with gentle support and informative conversations, I felt reassured that having her at home was a safe and possible experience.
At the eleventh hour with an induction booked for the following morning I finally went into labour and managed to deliver our darling Harlow at home with the love and support that I so desperately needed this birth to have. I cannot thank you ladies enough for all your caring, support, encouragement and love. As she came into the world all that anxiety and all the struggles just melted away as I held her in my arms in my own comfortable space. It was such an intense but amazing experience that I will treasure forever. Thank you everyone at MAMA, I cannot recommend your services highly enough. “
