** Sarah is on maternity leave from October 2021 ** Sarah has been a qualified midwife since 2012 and practiced in the Netherlands for over 3 years before she and her husband made the move to Australia. Due to the differences between the Dutch and Australian midwifery systems, she hasn't been able to work as a midwife here in Australia. However, Sarah has been so fortunate to find MAMA and get involved in many different areas.
In 2017 Sarah’s first son Hugo was born and in 2018 her second son Jonas. She breastfed them both with so much joy and a couple of hiccups. During her second maternity leave she studied to become a lactation consultant and her mind was blown by all the additional knowledge she got. Now she is very happy to fulfill the position of a Lactation Consultant at MAMA.
Sarah's services are covered by some private health funds (Medibank, Bupa, Frank Health Insurance, NIB.)

"Thank you for your wonderful help, Sarah! Your empathetic and very knowledgeable advice was crucial for us. I and my son went from expressing and top ups eight times a day to enjoyable 100% breastfeeding. We are deeply grateful for your support!" - Nicole
"In the first few days, I was in such a vulnerable and emotional place and Sarah provided calm and reassuring advice. When I was at my worst, she took the time to listen to my concerns, watch my baby and I attempt to feed, and offered helpful suggestions, encouragement, and helped me write down a very straightforward step by step plan. Sarah managed to take a very overwhelming situation and make it into a manageable task and a joyous one, and for that I am grateful. She followed up the following days to make sure we were travelling alright and answer questions. Sarah is truly brilliant not only in her knowledge but in her non-judgemental and reassuring personality." - Krista
